Here is the news you need to know this week:
Cinco de Mayo is an annual holiday in Mexico, which commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French forces of Napoleon III on May 5, 1862, at the Battle of Puebla.
American’s celebrate Cinco de Mayo, too, but let’s be honest…it’s mostly an opportunity to celebrate Mexican culture, and enjoy adult Mexican beverages.
But in 2020, Cinco de Mayo will be celebrated for the most part at home due to COVID-19.
Thankfully several Orlando-area restaurants are stepping up with take-out meals and beverage kits for you to purchase for your own celebration.

The restaurant was founded by Orlando restaurateurs Jason & Sue Chin, who also own the popular Seito Sushi across the street. From its opening in March 2015, The Osprey Tavern has been a favorite among local foodies.
In this week’s Orlando dining news round-up: chef’s dinners, charity chocolate, openings, and a closing. Are you hungry? Let’s dive in…
As part of this year’s Orlando Pride, several chefs will come together for Taste of Pride on October 8. Participating chefs include Art Smith, Kathleen Blake, Cat Cora, Melissa Kelly, and Kevin Fonzo. Tickets are $150 per person, and following the event, guests will have prime viewing spots for the fireworks over Lake Eola.
The 2016 Negroni Week charity event takes place from June 6-12, with over 30 participating Central Florida bars and restaurants.
Negroni Week launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes around the world.
