A recap of the 7th Annual Poca's Rock the Sauce food and music festival held at Will's Pub in Orlando.

Every year Wendy Davis, Chef/Owner of Poca’s Hottest Hot Sauces, holds a culinary competition where the contestants must use one of her hot sauces in their entry. This year was the 7th annual cook-off and it was held at Will’s Pub on Sunday, April 29.

In conjunction with the cook-off this year, Poca’s Hottest held a competition for the next band to have a hot sauce named after them.

You might not think you can get good BBQ at Disney Springs, but thanks to the opening of The Polite Pig in April 2017, you now can.

I recently attended a beer and food pairing at the eatery, but they were nice enough to let me try a few other items, as well.

The Polite Pig is from the same people that brought you the outstanding Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder, so I expected a quality selection of BBQ, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The huge 187-room Margaritaville Hotel is still under construction, but the framework is already in place. In addition to accommodations, dining, fitness center, wedding pavilion, and 2 pools (general and adult-only), it will feature 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Out and About: Checking out the New Menu at World of Beer

Check out CitySurfing Orlando's review of the new menu at World of Beer's Downtown Orlando location, on Lake Eola.

World of Beer is known for its beer selection – naturally with a name like that – but during a recent media event, I discovered their food is just as noteworthy.

I joined my friend Dawn of Come See Orlando as her guest at the downtown Orlando location, and enjoyed a sampling of items from the menu, including some new items.

They started us off with a German pretzel that was literally as big as our heads. Drenched in butter and salt, it was served with a stone-ground mustard and a brown ale beer cheese (normally extra, but worth the splurge), it was a great appetizer and paired well with several of the WOB beer selections.

Each year the Astronauts Memorial Foundation holds a ceremony at the Kennedy Space Center to remember the astronauts who gave their lives while serving to further the NASA mission of space exploration. It is generally held on the last Thursday of January, since many of the tragedies occurred around this time of year.

This year, the annual Day of Remembrance was held at the Astronauts Memorial Foundation building at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC), as well as at the Space Mirror Memorial.

LEGOLAND Florida recently kicked off its first ever LEGO NINJAGO Days weekend, and CSO was invited out on the first day to check it out.

Among the highlights was the premiere of a new 4D movie, “LEGO NINJAGO – Master of the 4th Dimension,” which featured the NINJAGO heroes in a new 12-minute adventure where they must learn to work together to escape a mind-bending dimension opened by one of Master Wu’s magic scrolls. Teamwork saves the day in this fun 4D experience!
