Not that you need a reason to enjoy a margarita, but this Saturday, February 22, is recognized as National Margarita Day.
According to legend, a socialite named Margarita Sames created the first margarita in 1948 at her hacienda in Acapulco, Mexico. She mixed together tequila, Cointreau and fresh lime juice, which today remains the basic recipe for a margarita.

As part of this year’s Orlando Pride, several chefs will come together for Taste of Pride on October 8. Participating chefs include Art Smith, Kathleen Blake, Cat Cora, Melissa Kelly, and Kevin Fonzo. Tickets are $150 per person, and following the event, guests will have prime viewing spots for the fireworks over Lake Eola.

The interactive demo will include Chef Richie’s Chicken Fried Steak with Truffled Pan Gravy and Chef Rivers’ Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding. Samples of the demo dishes will be served, and each guest will leave with recipe cards.
