Out and About: 2013 Osceola County Fair in Kissimmee

A county fair can always be a fun time.  Having grown up in the the Midwest, they were always fun to attend.  I didn’t always get to do the extra-special cost-more-money stuff that my older siblings did, but the rides were awesome.

This past Saturday (2/9), my family and I went to check out the Osceola County Fair.

This fair is a typical small town country fair, and it is tons of fun.  You can see the animal entries from the 4H kids (awesome organization, btw), and the midway is full of impossible-to-win games that cost extra, and typical fried fair food that costs way more than it should.

The kids loved the fun houses and bumper cars, though our daughter had to ride the Tilt-a-whirl all by herself this year as I was recovering from the flu, and would not have survived it.

I would recommend doing this with your family if you can. Yes, it is expensive, but it’s worth the experience, especially if you have not been to a county fair. With the help of prepurchased wrist bands from Walgreens, it was more affordable for our family of four.

The 2013 Osceola County Fair runs through February 17, at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee.
