My family and I were invited to check out Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party for CitySurfing Orlando on the production’s first show this weekend at the Amway Center.

The premise of this new Disney on Ice production is that Captain Hook has stolen Tinkerbells magic wand and is holding her captive. Mickey and the gang must solve clues on a treasure map to fill up the Magic Meter in order to free Tinkerbell.

The show begins with a fun opening number where Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, are introduced and the story begins.

The search takes us thru aspects from Beauty and Beast, Toy Story, Moana, Coco, Aladdin, Little Mermaid, and Frozen. The show includes aerial artistry, as well as jumps and acrobatics by the performers.

The closing number brings out more friends, not all on ice skates.

We took with us a friend that had never been to a show before. It was sheer joy for me to see her sing along with all the songs. But then we all were.

This show was such fun! It had enough action to keep it interesting and the story moving forward. My kids are older and they enjoyed it. My 10 yr old son liked the acrobatics in the Aladdin segment. Genie is always fun. My 13 yr old girls enjoyed Coco and Frozen segments the best. We all enjoyed ourselves!

There was a technical problem during our show, but the crew did an amazing job of fixing the issue quickly. The show’s hosts provided the audience with a good distraction while the tech crew solved the problem. Good job guys! The unsung heroes of show business.

We were also honored to spend a few minutes with two of the production’s cast members before the show. The girls were able to interview them, as well. The cast members have been with Feld Entertainment (the producers of the show) for a few years each, and said they really enjoy what they do!
