Saturday, April 21st, radio station WJRR (101.1FM) hosted its 25th annual Earthday Birthday at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, and I was in attendance.
101.1 WJRR FM Orlando is teaming up once again with Mel’s Bad Girls Club (MBGC) for Pay to Play, an effort to raise money and awareness for Hope Helps this holiday season
To do this, they will turn over the WJRR airwaves to the listeners of Central Florida on Friday, December 4 from 7am to 7pm, in exchange for donations.
As part of a spring tour to support their recent album, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will take part in WJRR’s Earthday Birthday 22 on April 25 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.
Slash, of course, is a legendary guitarist who has performed in bands like Guns N’Roses and supergroup Velvet Revolver. He’s also released several solo albums, including last year’s World on Fire.
April is a ways away, but WJRR wants to get you thinking about next year’s annual Earthday Birthday concert blowout now by offering a Black Friday deal on tickets.
If you are a “Club 101one” member (their free online club), you can pick up tickets to EDBD 22 for only $22. Plus the first 1000 tickets purchased with this Black Friday deal will also come with a ticket to see Fozzy (feat. WWE wrestler Chris Jericho) on December 11 at the House of Blues Orlando.
One of the biggest music fests in Orlando is WJRR‘s annual Halloweenie Roast, and this year’s edition will be headlined by the legendary rocker, Alice Cooper.
Joining him onstage will be Papa Roach, Bullet for My Valentine, Pop Evil, Black Veil Brides, and Heaven’s Basement.
The show will take place on October 25, at the UCF Arena. Show starts at 6pm.
Tickets are on sale now, for $29.50 to $49.50, online at Ticketmaster or at the UCF Arena box office.
