Howl-O-Scream is returning to SeaWorld Orlando for its second year, starting September 9, 2022.
The adult-themed Halloween event debuted in 2021 after many years at sister park Busch Gardens Tampa.
Returning Scares
Returning for 2022 are a couple of guest favorite chills that are being reimagined:
In “Beneath The Ice,” no one has heard from base camp since it was entombed in snow. You’re here to find survivors…but you’ll wish you hadn’t.
If you’re not chilled enough, the nearby scare zone “Frozen Terror – Alive in the Ice” also returns. It takes place in an inhospitable Arctic wasteland that is swarming with icy, subhuman walkers.
To round out the real chills, the themed bar “Tormented” is back offering a break from the wintry terrors of the Arctic hellscape outside.
“Captain’s Revenge” house will also be back, featuring a captain and his crew who has sworn to revenge on all who enter.
The “Longshore Tavern” pirates-themed bar returns for all those who survive the Captain and his crew.

New Frights
New for 2022 is the scare zone “Cut Throat Cove.” It features marauding pirates were too arrogant to see their downfall coming, and now they’re doomed to wander through a sea of gruesome reminders.
In the other new scare zone, “Sea of Fear,” you’ve finally reached their gathering place…the portal to all the terrors you’ve only heard whispers of. They’re already here, lurking in the shadows and crevices, ready to bring you into the fold. It’s time to dip your toe in the water. Just don’t expect a friendly welcome.
Plus “Howl-O-Scream” has a new show this year, “Lurking in the Deep: An Adventurer’s Tale.” Tracking down sirens is no simple feat. Gather around to hear the famed explorer’s stories, from the horrific to the hilarious.
More scary announcements are in store for this year’s event, and I’ll share the news as I get it.
The Hostess of Screams
This year will feature a hostess by the name of Scratch, and beauty is in her blood. She’s emerged from the depths to lead her siren sisters in a new hunt. Will you be lured in and become her next victim?
The Details
Howl-O-Scream will run at SeaWorld Orlando Friday nights through Sunday nights from September 9 to October 31, 2022.
Thursday nights will be added to the schedule October 13, 20, and 27.
