Papa Llama, one of Orlando’s beloved locally-owned restaurants, has suddenly closed its doors after almost ten years of operation serving Peruvian dishes.
According to fellow Orlando blog Bungalower, “Papa Llama owners Maria and Kevin Ruiz shared with Bungalower Friday morning that Papa Llama has closed its doors and is no longer open for service.”
From its beginnings as a pop-up at East End Market, the husband and wife duo opened their brick-and-mortar location at 2840 Curry Ford Road in 2019. Since then, they’ve build a following among Orlando foodies, and received a Michelin Star first in 2024 and again in 2025, but in 2026 was downgraded to “Recommended,” which is still an honor.
There hasn’t been a reason given for the sudden closure, and while the restaurant’s website is already down, the Instagram still remains, probably for not much longer.
