Universal Orlando will host the Grand Opening of its new TODAY Cafe on May 16, and its namesake TODAY Show will be broadcasting live.
Since the cafe is inside the park, you must have a ticket or an annual pass to be a part of the live broadcast. Annual passholders can register online for the chance to be in the live audience.
If you’re not part of the live audience, you can watch it all from the comfort of wherever you happen to be starting at 7:30am on WESH or your local NBC affiliate.
To help kick off Universal Orlando‘s 25th Anniversary, NBC’s Today Show will air live from the resort’s CityWalk on Friday, May 29.
Not only will the show broadcast live from the CityWalk stage alongside the lagoon, but their Friday concert series will include a short set by Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull!
The Today Show is bringing five of their anchors – Matt, Savannah, Natalie, Al and Willie – to Orlando next week on May 23. They will be using Universal Orlando as their base studio for the morning.
It’s part of their “Great American Adventure” promotion, which finds the team traveling America. They start off in Hawaii on Monday, Yellowstone National Park on Tuesday, Chicago on Wednesday, Orlando on Thursday, and the Jersey Shore on Friday.
If you’d like to be a part of the audience for free, when they shoot outside of Universal’s entrance, RSVP on the Today Show Facebook page.
The live broadcast starts at 7am, so you’ll need to arrive by 6:30am to get in the viewing area.
You can also follow along via social media like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, via the hastags #TODAYAdventure and #TODAYinOrlando.
So what do you do if you’ve run the New York City Marathon? If you’re Today Show’s Al Roker and Meredith Vieira, you come to Orlando to run in the 2011 Walt Disney World Half-Marathon.
The two got up in the early morning hours yesterday, and were joined by their co-worker, Today Show’s Natalie Morales, to run the annual 13.1-mile race.
Here the trio are pre-race with a few Disney characters to cheer them on.
