Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend Brings Horror Stars to Orlando in October

Looking to spend the weekend before Halloween with like-minded horror fans? Then you need to be at Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend.

It takes place at the Hilton Orlando the weekend of October 26-28, 2012, and will bring in many stars of the horror movie genre.

Among this year’s celebrity guests are:

  • Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street series)
  • Tyler Mane (Halloween 1 & 2)
  • John Kassir (Tales from the Crypt)
  • Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th)

  • Chris Sarandon (Fright Night, Child’s Play)
  • Bill Moseley (House of 1,000 Corpses, Devil’s Rejects)
  • Ken Foree (House of 1,000 Corpses, Devil’s Rejects)
  • Heather Langenkamp (Nightmare on Elm Street)
  • PJ Soles (Halloween)
  • Zoe Bell (Death Proof)
  • Tom Savini (From Dusk Till Dawn, Dawn of the Dead)
  • Traci Lords (Blade)

There will also be a film festival, live bands, a tattoo festival, zombie walk, costume contest, and more.

A weekend pass for all three days is only $50. Daily passes are $30 for Friday and Sunday, and $35 for Saturday. There are also VIP weekend passes for $199 that include admission, first seating for panels, front of line to autograph lines and admission to the VIP party with the celebrity guests and open bar on Saturday night.

You can purchase all tickets and passes online. Autographs and photo ops are available for an additional fee for most celebrity guests.

Hours for the Ultimate Horror Weekend are: Friday 5pm-11pm; Saturday 11am-8pm; and Sunday 11am-5pm.

The Hilton Orlando is located at 6001 Destination Pkwy, near the Orange County Convention Center.

Survivor Discovery Cove Style

Members of the reality TV shows Survivor and Love in the Wild spent Friday at Discovery Cove here in Orlando.

Carrie Underwood Visits Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer Carrie Underwood visited Walt Disney World this week.

She was on vacation with her husband, NHL star Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators. During their visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 24, they met up with Minnie Mouse in front of the Tree of Life.

Actors Richard Gere and Carey Lowell Visit Universal Orlando

Legendary actor Richard Gere and his actress wife Carey Lowell are in Orlando this week, and on Thursday, March 29, the two were captured enjoying the attractions inside Islands of Adventure.

According to the theme park, the duo experienced many of the park’s attractions, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and the newly revamped Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.

Harry Potter Stars Visit Orlando-Area Walmart to Promote DVD

In town as part of the huge Harry Potter event at Universal Orlando this weekend, several of the stars from the HP movies visited a local WalMart to promote the release of the last movie on DVD.

The event took place on November 11, 2011, to promote the first day on-sale release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 on DVD. The stars signed autographs at the WalMart on Turkey Lake Rd, just south of Universal Orlando, for the hundreds of Potter fans in attendance.

Florence + the Machine Enjoy Butterbeer Before Sold-Out Hard Rock Live Show

In town for a sold-out show at the Hard Rock Live tonight, Florence + the Machine spent the afternoon at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure.

The Machine decided to enjoy a little Butterbeer while Florence remained a teetotaller in this photo supplied by Universal Orlando.

Ke$ha Plays Tik Tok with the White Rabbit at the Magic Kingdom

Pop singer Ke$sha played at the Magic Kingdom today and ran into The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.

Ke$ha is in town for two sold-out shows at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney this weekend. She’s had several hit songs, including her debut single, “Tik Tok,” which was number one in several countries around the world.

Lady Gaga vs the Evil Queen at Magic Kingdom

Following her amazing show in Orlando on Friday, Lady Gaga hit the theme parks yesterday (April 16).

While out and about, she ran into the Evil Queen from Snow White at the Magic Kingdom. Comparing snacks? Exchanging fashion tips? Who knows what these two divas talked about, but it doesn’t appear Gaga felt the need to watch her back.

Christina Aguilera and Son Play at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Grammy Award-winning singer Christina Aguilera is visiting Central Florida with her son Max this week, and the two spent yesterday (April 11) at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

In the photo below, mom and son were captured playing at Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama in the Dinoland area of the park.

On April 26, 2011, Aguilera will debut as one of four musician coaches on the new NBC vocal competition series “The Voice.”

Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson Plays at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The hilarious Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays the role of Mitchell on ABC’s Modern Family, was caught trying to zap aliens at the popular Toy Story Mania ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today.

The star and his boyfriend, Justin Mikita, are vacationing at Walt Disney World this week before jetting off to New York City.

The duo have also been tweeting candid shots of their WDW trip including one from the Rock’n’Roller Coaster, also at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and one from Dinosaur! at Animal Kingdom.

Disney Channel Stars Appear At Epcot to Promote Healthy Living This Weekend

Stars of several Disney Channel shows are appearing at Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival this weekend to help promote healthy living to kids.

They took part in filming a “Try New Foods” public service announcement for the network on Thursday (March 17) at Epcot, and will be there throughout the weekend. The guests of honor for the weekend are children ages 8-14 who are winners of a national “Disney Magic of Healthy Living” essay contest.

Disney Channel stars who will act as coaches for the weekend event are Jennifer Stone (Wizards of Waverly Place), Kenton Duty (Shake it Up), Daniel Curtis Lee (Zeke and Luther), Alyson Stoner (Phineas and Ferb, Camp Rock 2), and Caroline Sunshine (Shake It Up).

Admission to the Flower & Garden Festival is included with regular admission to Epcot. Also there this weekend are HGTV’s Kim Myles (Myles of Style) discussing the “5 DIY Secrets That Can Transform Any Space,” and musical artist Chubby Checker.

MegaConvention to Bring Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Comic Superstars to Orlando in March

If you’re a fan of science fiction or fantasy entertainment, then one annual Orlando event you won’t want to miss is MegaConvention. It brings in dozens of stars from film and TV, along with comic, anime and graphic artists/writers for a whole weekend to meet with fans and participate in panels.

The 2011 MegaConvention takes place March 25 to 27 at the Orange County Convention Center.

Among the media guests invited are a slew of Star Trek actors, including Capt. Kirk himself, William Shatner, along with Michael Dorn, Robin Curtis, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis.

Also appearing are Bruce Boxleitner, Mira Furlan, Gil Gerard, Erin Gray, Lou Ferrigno, John Schneider, Doug Jones (Hellboy I & II), Matt Senreich (Robot Chicken), Cindy Morgan (Tron), Kevin Sorbo and James Masters. There’s also a trio of original Battlestar Galactica actors: Herbert Jefferson, Jr.; Anne Lockhart; and Jack Stauffer.

As for the comic guests, the list is led off by the legendary Stan Lee, who will appear along with over 55 other well-known artists and writers.

Entrance to the MegaConvention is $23.96 per day in advance or $25 at the door. A three-day pass is $56.45 in advance or $60 at the door. Children 10 and under are free with a paid adult admission.

Autographs, photo ops with the headlining guests and special events with the stars are additional to the admission price.

Tickets may be purchased online or in person at any Coliseum of Comics location, as well as Comic Central in Sanford.

Aerosmith’s Joey Kramer Visits Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler is busy doing his “American Idol” thing, drummer Joey Kramer decided to vacation in Orlando.

Yesterday (February 25), he was spotted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios hanging out with Goofy at the “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.”  The Walt Disney World roller coaster is not only named after the band, but features an soundtrack of the band’s classic hits to listen to during the ride.

Anyone else spot him out and about this weekend?
