Orlando’s Southern Fried Sunday music festival moves online for a free streaming #StayHome Fest event on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
The Southern Fried Sunday events feature a mixture of roots music genres paired with Southern/Soul food, and are usually held at Will’s Pub in Orlando. But this Sunday, you can enjoy it all from home, where you should be sheltering in place anyways.
The event is free to view and runs from 2pm to 9pm on the Southern Fried Sunday Facebook page.
The line-up is comprised of SFS regulars and fan favorites:
- Kaleigh Baker & Matt Walker of Someday Honey streaming from St. Pete
- Matt Burke of Have Gun, Will Travel, streaming from Bradenton
- Jordan Foley, of Jordan Foley & The Wheelhouse from Sanford
- Joseph & Jessy Lynn Martens, from the Wekiva River
- Beth McKee & Juan Perez, from Orlando
- Amy Robbins & Matthew Robbins, from Mount Dora
- The Roman South Project from Orlando
- Hannah & Thomas Wynn of Hannah Harber & The Lionhearts/THOMAS WYNN & THE BELIEVERS, streaming from Sanford
- Matt Woods, streaming from Nashville
- Pre-recorded videos from Brian Chodorcoff & Brittany Schweizer’s Orlando home studio
- Past SFS videos from Dave Segal at BOOTLEG TELEVISION
- Patrick Hagerman, streaming live from The New Standard restaurant in Winter Park.
In addition to hosting Hagerman’s live stream, The New Standard, will also provide a Southern Fried Sunday Fried Chicken Dinner, with all the fixins, for anyone who wants to order delivery from them. Bottles of “House Cocktails” may also available with take-out orders. Call (407) 316-2278 for more information and to pre-order dinner, which is strongly suggested.
This event will also serve as a multi-directional fundraiser:
- The acts performing will be accepting virtual tips through their preferred cash app.
- To assist the staff of SFS’s home venue, who were forced to close due to the pandemic, viewers will be encouraged to order Will’s Pub merchandise through their Squarespace.
- To financially assist members of their community, or find assistance themselves, viewers will be given links to donate to Heart of Florida United Way’s ALICE Fund, which is focused on supporting the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population in Central Florida experiencing hardship due to unpaid leave during COVID-19.
