Duran Duran to Bring Paper Gods Tour to Tampa and St. Augustine in Spring 2016

Multi-platinum superstars Duran Duran have announced that they will hit the road next year in support of their critically acclaimed album Paper Gods, and there are two Central Florida dates scheduled.

Duran Duran 2015

The band formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978, and were among the forefront of 80s bands who debuted along with MTV, which would play their videos in heavy rotation.

After many years of hits, and line-up changes, Duran Duran is currently comprised of original members Simon LeBon (lead vocals), Nick Rhodes (keyboards), John Taylor (bass/vocals) and Roger Taylor (drums).

The new album, Paper Gods, was released on September 11, 2015, and debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart, earning Duran Duran its highest-charting album in 22 years.

To make this tour even sweeter, the band is bringing along the legendary Chic featuring Nile Rodgers as their support act. Rodgers has enjoyed a long influential and collaborative history with Duran Duran, most recently producing Paper Gods.

The first Central Florida show on this leg of the tour will be at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St Augustine on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Tickets to the show run $64.50 to $94.50, and are available at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre box office or Ticketmaster.com.

Three nights later, the tour hits the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds in Tampa, on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Tickets to the show run $29.95 to $145.95, and are available at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre box office or Ticketmaster.com.

All ticket purchases include a copy of Paper Gods, as well.
