Orlando Brewing Celebrates American Craft Beer Week May 12-18, 2014

Orlando Brewing, Orlando’s only local organic brewery, will commemorate America’s diverse craft beer culture by raising a glass to American Craft Beer Week with events from May 12-18.

American Craft Beer WeekMonday, May 12, the week kicks off with the release of a lavender blonde ale. There will be craft beer trivia with happy hour pricing after the 6pm free tour.

Tuesday, May 13, the brewery will release a rose petal red for guests to try. They will also host a microbrew and cheese pairing with La Femme Du Fromage, starting at 7pm. Cost is $20.

Orlando Brewing keeps the festivities going on Wednesday, May 14, with Liquid Education, a beer school at 7pm. Cost is $15 and participants will gain knowledge while they taste, learning about ingredients, flavors, aromas, and the brewing process. They’ll also get a souvenir Orlando Brewing sample glass. They will also release a cask-conditioned Kolsch, aged with orange wood and dry hopped with Hallertauer hops, for everyone to enjoy.

The brewing company’s first Charcuterie & Beer pairing will take place on Thursday, May 15, at 6pm and again at 7:30pm. Cost is $25 and includes meats from Saint Sus-American Charcuterie. They will also release a cask-conditioned Senator, an imperial oatmeal stout aged with coconut.

Friday, May 16, sees the release of a hoppy red ale called Ruby Slippers. The evening will also have a tasting of Anisocoria, the world’s first certified organic single malt barley wine which has been bottle conditioned since 2008. For $15 tasters will receive a unique drinking experience and a limited edition stemmed tulip Anisocoria glass.

Leroy Brown, a hoppy brown ale will have a limited release on Saturday, May 17. Also happening that evening is a local art show, with artists speaking at 7pm, and live music at 9pm.

The week’s celebrations wind up on Sunday with a meeting of the Orlando BrewCrafters at 4pm. This is a group of craft beer enthusiasts who enjoy brewing the finest in home-brews and welcome all enthusiasts.
