Orlando Brewing Celebrates American Craft Beer Week May 12-18, 2014

Orlando Brewing, Orlando’s only local organic brewery, will commemorate America’s diverse craft beer culture by raising a glass to American Craft Beer Week with events from May 12-18.

American Craft Beer WeekMonday, May 12, the week kicks off with the release of a lavender blonde ale. There will be craft beer trivia with happy hour pricing after the 6pm free tour.

Tuesday, May 13, the brewery will release a rose petal red for guests to try. They will also host a microbrew and cheese pairing with La Femme Du Fromage, starting at 7pm. Cost is $20.

Orlando Brewing keeps the festivities going on Wednesday, May 14, with Liquid Education, a beer school at 7pm. Cost is $15 and participants will gain knowledge while they taste, learning about ingredients, flavors, aromas, and the brewing process. They’ll also get a souvenir Orlando Brewing sample glass. They will also release a cask-conditioned Kolsch, aged with orange wood and dry hopped with Hallertauer hops, for everyone to enjoy.

Celebrate American Craft Beer Week at Plaza Live in Orlando on May 15, 2013

plazalive-beerweek2013Plaza Live will be getting into the spirit of American Craft Beer Week with a beer and food truck event on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

The event will feature brews from Kona Brewing, Widmer Bros Brewery, Redhook Brewery, and Omission Beer. Those 21 and over can purchase 10 samples for only $10.

There will also be local food trucks like The Hula Dog, Fork in the Road, The Crepe Company, Wako Taco, and Melissa’s Chicken & Waffles. Food pricing will be set by the trucks.

Live music will be provided by Jeff White from 5-7pm, and The Crazy Carls from 7-9pm.

The event will run from 5-9pm, and is free to attend. Food and drink samples are the only costs.

Orlando Brewing, which makes some awesome brews, will be celebrating American Craft Beer Week, May 13-19, with special events each night.

Monday, May 13th:

  • Beer Flight & Chocolate Pairing – Receive a taster flight of four 5oz. Orlando Brewing beers paired with handcrafted chocolates from Chocolate Provocateur. Pairing begins at 7pm. Cost is $10 to participate. Please RSVP by calling 407-872-1117.
  • Hoppy Hour – $1 off all Orlando Brewing beers 3pm-6pm.
  • Mug Monday – Bring any O.B. Oktoberfest mug and have it filled for the price of a pint. 28oz. 2012 Oktoberfest mugs will be available for purchase, if you don’t already have one.

Tuesday, May 14th:

  • Anisocoria Tasting – Brewed in 2007, and bottled in 2008, Anisocoria is the world’s first certified organic single malt barley wine, has an 18% ABV, and is limited in supply. Participate in a group tasting of Anisocoria led by Brewery President, John Cheek. Tasters will receive a unique drinking experience and a limited edition stemmed tulip Anisocoria glass. Tasting starts at 7PM and it costs $10 to participate.
  • Hoppy Hour – $1 off all Orlando Brewing beers 3pm-6pm.
  • 2-4-1 Tuesday – Select Orlando Brewing beers will be buy-one, get-one from open to close.

Wednesday, May 15th:

  • Mini Beer School – Brewery President, John Cheek, will teach the Mini Beer School, where students will gain knowledge of four very different beers, learning about ingredients, flavors, aromas, and the brewing process while they taste. The tasting will be followed by a private tour of the brewery with John. Mini Beer School begins at 7PM and cost will be $20 to participate. Please RSVP by calling 407-872-1117.
