NASA Celebrates 65 Years With Then and Now Photos of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex - then and now

Sixty-five years ago, on July 29, 1958, NASA was founded. Today, the race to space looks different but the enthusiasm for exploration and adventure continues. As the space program has grown, so has Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (KSCVC), which opened on July 1, 1962.

KSCVC is the destination for millions of visitors each year who come to learn about the past, present and future of space exploration and interplanetary travel.

From the original bus tour of the NASA grounds in July 1966, to today’s expansive grounds, experiences and attractions, the visitor complex continues to expand.

The most recent additions include the new “Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex®” featuring Spaceport KSC, which showcases flight-flown artifacts such as the Orion Exploration Flight Test-1 capsule and the SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Booster.

To celebrate this amazing anniversary, NASA has shared these now and then photos of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex:
