Lucky’s Market to Close Nearly All Central Florida Stores by February 2020 .. @LuckysMarket

Lucky's Market

It appears the Lucky’s Market grocery brand will be closing all but one of its Florida store locations by February 12, 2020. The West Melbourne store will remain open.

The news broke via the South Florida Sun Sentinel newspaper. I have also had confirmations that several Central Florida stores let their employees know this morning.

Lucky’s regional distribution center in Orlando is also expected to close after opening just last year, according to the Sun Sentinel.

These closings come in the wake of the news last month that Kroger’s, Lucky’s primary financial backer, plans to divest its ownership shares in the company.

I personally am very sad at losing Lucky’s Market. They have great prices on produce and I was always discovering new things to enjoy via their weekly sales. If you’re going to miss Lucky’s, too, let me know in comments.
