‘Lenox Ave.’ Returns to Orlando at the Dr. Phillips Center June 19-20, 2026

'Lenox Ave.'

“Lenox Ave.,” named “Best Show” of 2025 Orlando Fringe, returns to Orlando at Judson’s Live at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts June 19-20, presented in partnership with Central Florida Vocal Arts, in celebration of Juneteenth.

Set in the Harlem Renaissance and based on the poetry of Langston Hughes, “Lenox Avenue” is a critically acclaimed celebration of black creativity, resilience, and above all…JOY.

Written and composed by Brandon Martin, and grounded in the poetry of Langston Hughes from his 1926 book, “The Weary Blues,” Martin blends genres of blues, jazz, swing, and Caribbean calypso to paint the aural image of the Harlem Renaissance. This beautiful fusion yields show-stopping favorites including “Top of the Stair” and “Glad Rags”.

This production of “Lenox Ave.” is under the Direction and Music Direction of both Caila Carter and collaborative pianist, Joel Law, and presented in partnership with Central Florida Vocal Arts (CFVA). Carter, who is also a part of the cast, has been involved with the show since its inception and has also served as a part of the CFVA team in a variety of capacities for nearly a decade.
