The Wheel at ICON Park Has Reopened Following New Year’s Eve Power Outage

ICON Park Orlando

ICON Park has announced that The Wheel at ICON Park has reopened following a power outage on New Year’s Eve.

According to ICON Park, all of the components on the attraction have been inspected, and the parts that were affected have been replaced.

Additionally, with assistance from the manufacturer of the attraction, Intamin Amusement Rides and other leading industry engineers, supplemental safeguards have been added to prevent the interruption in power to occur again.

They also state The Wheel has been successfully run for days now to assure that all systems are “Go!,” and it has passed all inspections to allow the safe operation of this Orlando attraction.

“We’d like to thank the technical team and our outside engineering partners who have worked hundreds of additional hours to help complete repairs and the meticulous inspections required by our internal safety protocols,” said Chris Jaskiewicz, ICON Park’s President and CEO.

“We especially appreciate the community’s support as we have worked through this process, and we are pleased that Orlando’s most visible ‘welcome to the world’ is open.”

The Wheel is open noon until 11pm tonight and Saturday, and from noon to 10pm Sunday through Thursday. For more details, visit ICONParkOrlando.com.
