It’s been a while, due to the pandemic, but Fairwinds Broadway in Orlando kicks off its newest season at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts with the musical Tootsie from November 2-7, 2021.

Tootsie is based on the hit 80s movie, and tells the story of a talented but volatile actor whose reputation for being difficult forces him to adopt a new identity as a woman named Dorothy in order to land a job.

The Broadway production began previews on March 29, 2019, and closed on January 5, 2020, having played 293 regular and 25 preview performances. In between, it won several awards, including two Tonys.

Tickets start at $44.50, and are available at DrPhillipsCenter.org, and the venue box office. Shows are at 8pm daily with afternoon matinees on Saturday and Sunday.

The show is recommended for ages 12 and up due to strong language.
