Congratulations to Orlando City Soccer Club, who won the USL Pro championship game against the Charlotte Eagles at the Florida Citrus Bowl last night.
A record turnout of 20,886 watched the team beat the Eagles 7-4. Orlando City games usually average a crowd of about 8,000.
Saturday’s attendance shattered the club’s former mark of 11,220 set in the 2011 USL PRO Championship Game.
This definitely bodes well for those who are hoping to bring a major league soccer team to Orlando, as well as those pushing for a new soccer stadium.
