What do you get when you combine runners/walkers, charity and colored powder? The Color Run, a unique charity event that has taken place in over 30 countries, all over the world.
The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Finish Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations.
The only rules are to wear a white shirt, finish plastered in color, and have fun while doing it. You can run solo, with friends and family, or as a team. Even kids are welcome.
The Orlando Color Run takes place September 22, 2013, with a route that goes around the Florida Citrus Bowl. The start window will open at 8:30 am with waves leaving at regular intervals.
Registration is currently $50 per person until August 15, when it increases to $55. Group together in teams of 4 or more and the cost is $45 per person until August 15, when it increases to $50. Kids 5 and under can run with an adult FREE of charge and do not need to register.
A portion of the registration fees will be donated to a local charity, yet to be named. Runners will also receive a custom The Color Run race shirt and tattoo, a bag of Color, race number, “Color Runner” finisher sweat band, and other sponsor goodies.
