80th Annual Winter Park Bach Festival

The 80th Annual Winter Park Bach Festival features orchestral and choral concerts, renowned visiting artists, an organ recital and educational and social events. This year’s fest starts on February 7, and finishes March 1.

Here is a run down of the Bach Festival events for 2015, many of which are free to attend:

February 7 – Bach and Beer at Cask & Larder, Winter Park
Join the Bach Festival Society and Cask & Larder Brewmasters, Garrett Ward and Larry Foor, for the release of a limited-edition beer, Brandenburger Bock, brewed for the 80th Annual Bach Festival. Featuring German music, this event will be popular with music lovers and beer lovers alike. Free to attend. (3pm-6pm)

February 8 – The Sweetest Sounds at Central Park, Winter Park
Members of the Bach Festival Choir join Michael Andrew and Swingerhead for a Valentine’s Day concert on Park Avenue. Bring a picnic basket, spread out a blanket, and spend the afternoon with your sweetheart on Park Avenue. Free to attend. (4pm-6:30pm)

February 13 – Paul Jacobs, Organ at at Knowles Memorial Chapel, Rollins College
This Grammy Award-winner, called “one of the most supremely gifted organists of his generation” by The Chicago Tribune, unites technical skills of the first order with probing emotional artistry. The program includes Bach, Stanley, Mozart, and more. Tickets are $25. (7:30pm-9pm)
