This week Universal Orlando revealed new details on Volcano Bay, scheduled to open in summer 2017. It is described as a water theme park, and it will span 28 acres next to the Cabana Bay Resort.
Volcano Bay will offer 18 unique attractions across four primary areas of the park themed with Polynesian influences . These will include:
Aquatica Orlando is a fun place to spend hot summer days, but starting July 3, the water park will be heating things up on the weekend with Island Nights presented by Coca-Cola.
This all-new beach party takes place every Friday and Saturday through August 8 from 5pm to 9pm in the evening.
This summer, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be celebrating the upcoming release of the Disney Channel Original Movie “Teen Beach 2” with a daily “Teen Beach 2: Beach Party.”
The beach party takes place on the shore of the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, and features a DJ spinning retro tunes, beach-themed games, hula hoop contests and more. Actual cast members will not be in attendance.
Universal Orlando has just been on a roll with new attraction announcements and experiences, but this morning (May 28), they formally announced plans for their first water park, called Volcano Bay.
Volcano Bay’s setting is picture-perfect tropical islands formed by a massive volcano, hence the name. Universal Orlando says it will feature radically-innovative attractions and peaceful moments of relaxation in a way that they feel will change the way guests think about water theme parks.
WFTV news reported last night that they have uncovered paperwork filed by Universal Orlando for a new water park to be built.
This unnamed water park would be built on a 25-acre piece of land between Turkey Lake Rd and I-4, just south of Universal’s Cabana Bay resort.

Wet ‘n Wild Orlando water park will open a new water attraction called Aqua Drag Racer on Thursday, June 12, just in time for the 2014 summer season.
This thrill ride will send guests down six stories of enclosed braided and twisting tunnels will accelerate them into four parallel racing lanes, crossing the finish line at the end.
In celebration of the opening of the Aqua Drag Racer on June 12, 2014 the first 500 guests to enter the park on Thursday will be given a pass into the ‘fast lane’ with a one-time Express Pass wristband. The park opens to the public at 9:30am.

Thrill ride fans, get ready, because Aquatica Orlando has announced their new vertical drop water ride, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, will open May 9, 2014.
This free-fall style ride is the tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide of its kind in the southern United States.
It is nearly 80 feet tall, and features three clear “breakaway boxes” side-by-side that will open at random, so the riders have no idea who will drop first. There is also a fourth open slide, for those that want to know when they’ll drop.
Ihu’s Breakaway Falls will be included with admission to Aquatica Orlando. From high-speed water slides and exhilarating wave pools, to tranquil beaches and the remarkable animal habitats that are the hallmark of sister park SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando delights all ages and interests.
