In a normal year, there are many ways to celebrate the 4th of July here in Orlando and Central Florida, from theme park events to city-sponsored events, and everything in between.
But 2020 is proving to be anything but normal, and due to COVID-19 safety precautions many of our regular patriotic picks simply aren’t happening.
You don’t have to put off celebrating July 4th completely, though. I have scoured press releases and the internet, and here are our picks for celebrating this year’s holiday:
As we told you last week, Walt Disney World has decided to dip its toes into the reopening waters by doing a limited opening of Disney Springs on Tuesday, May 20.
Based on government requirements, as well as guidance from health authorities such as the CDC and appropriate government agencies, Disney is implementing a number of new health and safety measures and operational changes for this reopening.

Earlier this year, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts held a poll and let fans vote on what the next specialty glaze should be. Lemon won, and it will be available in all Central Florida Krispy Kreme locations for one week only from April 23-29, 2018.
STK Orlando recently opened at Disney Springs, and is the only one to offer a lunch seating. The other locations in the brand are only open for dinner.
Created by Executive Chef James O’Donnell, the menu at lunch features many of the dishes found on the dinner menu, such as a variety of steaks, Free Range Chicken, and Florida grouper.
STK Orlando has officially opened its doors at Disney Springs, and on Tuesday night, CitySurfing Orlando was invited to the Grand Opening Party.
This location, the 11th for the brand, is the largest with over 14,000-sq-ft. and seating on two levels. the first floor features a lounge area, bar, a seated dining area, and a private dining room that can seat 12. Lighting is dim, and a DJ is stationed here, too.

The COOP in Winter Park has added a new option to its menu. The Salad Bar includes offerings such as grilled chicken, fresh and flavorful dressings that are made in house, and various pre-made seasonal salads.
Cost is $9.99, and its available daily from 11am-2pm and from 5pm-close.

Now through April 10, Hard Rock Cafe Orlando will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a special GUINNESS® & Jameson® Bacon Cheeseburger, paired with a GUINNESS® stout.
Steak lovers, get ready! The ONE Group has announced STK Orlando will be opening in 2015 at Disney Springs.
The STK brand combines a modern steakhouse with a lounge setting, including a DJ. At almost 14,000-sq-ft, the Orlando location will feature two dining floors: a main level and a rooftop dining area – the only one in Disney Springs.
This upscale restaurant also has locations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. The menu, if similar to the other locations, will put a dent in your wallet, but if you’re looking for a splurge dinner this will do it.
