Here is the news you need to know this week:
In this week’s Orlando dining news round-up: lots of vegan eats, a champagne dinner, a closing, and more. Are you hungry? Let’s dive in…
Jamaican vegan eatery DaJen Eats Cafe & Creamery will be opening in Eatonville, at 323 E. Kennedy Blvd. (next to the Eatonville Town Hall), on August 1 with several days of soft openings before switching to a regular schedule August 7.
In this week’s Orlando dining news round-up: chef’s dinners, new openings, and doughnuts. Are you hungry? Let’s dive in…
He’s made a name in the music world as a member of ‘NSync, and hosted several TV shows. Now Joey Fatone launching a hot dog cart at Florida Mall‘s dining pavilion.
Called Fat One’s Hot Dogs and Italian Ice, it will open this fall and feature menu items with playful names like “The Boybander” and “The Gone Hollywood.” Even the business name is a play on Fatone’s name.
In this week’s Orlando dining news round-up, chef’s dinners, salad bars, free cupcakes, and new openings. Are you hungry? Let’s dive in…
The COOP in Winter Park has added a new option to its menu. The Salad Bar includes offerings such as grilled chicken, fresh and flavorful dressings that are made in house, and various pre-made seasonal salads.
Cost is $9.99, and its available daily from 11am-2pm and from 5pm-close.
Shake Shack is a burger joint with a cult following, and in NYC, lines can be up to an hour long just to get in. But thankfully, you don’t have to deal with NYC lines because Shake Shack now has an Orlando location in Winter Park.
Shake Shack’s first Central Florida location opens today, July 30, but we got to sample some of its delicious grub a day early, and here’s what we can tell you.
1. Shake Shack has a reputation for incredible burgers, and it turns out the hype is for real. They use 100% antibiotic-free angus beef in all but one of their burger options.
2. They keep the menu simple, with three beef burger options: plain hamburger, their signature ShackBurger (a cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce), and the SmokeShack (the ShackBurger with additional toppings of a chopped cherry pepper and applewood smoked bacon), which is my personal favorite.
The first NYPD Pizza location opened in downtown Orlando in 1996. Now, the company has locations in four states and has won numerous awards.
Next month, the chain is set to open its sixth location right here in Orlando.
It will be located at 2912 Edgewater Drive in College Park (between W. Par St. and W. Princeton St.). Reps for NYPD Pizza say that this location will be open by the second week in April, and it will offer dine in, take out, delivery and catering.
I’ve eaten at the downtown, Kissimmee and Metrowest locations in Orlando and the pizza has always been good, and at a good price, too.
In fact one of my fave deals is the daily 99 cent slice. The slice of the day varies, but it happens every day from 11am to 5pm.
To check out the menu (they serve other Italian items besides pizza) or get more details, check out the NYPD Pizza website.
