2013 Orlando International Fringe Theater Fest Runs May 15-28

orlandofringe2013

The annual Orlando International Fringe Fest will be returning to the Loch Haven Park area May 15 through 28, 2013.

This 2-week festival is founded on the concept of “100% unjuried, 100% uncensored, 100% accessible theatre, music, dance, and art to all types and ages” – or in plain speak, something for everyone.

During the course of the festival a multitude of shows ranging from all-ages to adults-only will be performed at several venues in and around Loch Haven Park (or within a few blocks of it). A complete list of shows is available at The Fringe website.

Prices for most shows are $10 or $11 (plus a $1.25 service charge if bought online or $1 if in person). In addition to the show prices, every ticket buyer must also purchase a Fringe button for $9 (one button for the entire Fringe). 100% of the box office ticket sales go directly back to the artists within The Fringe, and the button sales help fund the festival.

There is also a free stage of entertainment that will be sponsored by the Orlando Weekly. It runs from 7-10pm on weeknights, 7pm-midnight on Fridays, 4pm-midnight on Saturdays, and 4-10pm on Sundays. It will showcase acts from many facets of Orlando’s performing arts scene with a focus on live music. The stage will also host competition poetry, stand-up comedy, grand scale illusion magic, a vocal resonance meditation experience, improv comedy, and an international DJ live music and sound collaborative act from Scotland.
