It’s almost Mother’s Day, and 2021 is starting to look a lot better than last year for celebrating your mom/mother figure.

Many restaurants and attractions are back open, and offering special deals or dinners/brunches to enjoy. Plus, a lot of people are getting vaccinated, making it safer to spend time together.

I’ve perused all the listings and press emails, and here are CitySurfing Orlando’s picks for celebrating moms on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2021. All prices do not include tax or gratuity (please don’t forget to tip!). Under the restaurant list are some fun events happening to enjoy with mom, too.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel Now Offers Despicable Me Kids’ Suites

Do you love the Minions from Despicable Me? If so, then you’ll love the new Despicable Me kids’ suites offered by Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando.

The rooms feature Minion wallpaper, Minion window dressing, and even custom missle beds for the kids to sleep in. The suites also feature a regular king bedroom for the adults, for a total of 650-675 square feet. If the beds were big enough, I think I’d want to sleep with the minions.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando Hosts Harbor Nights ‘Romantico’ Event on February 8

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando will be hosting a special “romantico” version of Harbor Nights on February 8, 2013.

This popular food and wine event allows guests to enjoy more than a dozen wines – reds, whites, and sparkling – gourmet food and desserts from the hotel’s award-winning culinary team.

Among the featured dishes during the “romantico” will be:

Marsala Risotto Cake with Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Mushroom Ragu
Olive Oil and Herb Poached Atlantic Salmon, with Pancetta White Bean Stufato
Seafood Cacciucco with Parmesan Cheese Crostini
Colossal Ravioli, Ricotta and Spinach with Butter Sage Porcini Sauce
Triple Chocolate Gelato
Champagne Sorbetto
Vanilla Panna Cotta with Raspberry Coulis

Guests can also enjoy complimentary hand-rolled cigars and live music from Jessica D and the I-4 Show Band.

Harbor Nights “Romantico” will take place from 6:30pm to 9pm. Tickets are $47.93 for general and $79.88 for reserved seating. They can be purchased online at LowesHotels.tix.com. Must be 21 or older to attend.
