Orlando Science Center is throwing a birthday party for Dr. Seuss in KidsTown the weekend of March 3-4, 2018, and your family is invited!
As a creative thinker, Dr. Seuss shared his ideas about learning, imagination and creativity in his books; at Orlando Science Center they encourage creativity because it helps develop STEM skills.
Orlando Science Center will open their new KidsTown section the weekend of October 22 and 23.
The new early childhood space is nearly three times the size of the current area, encompassing 11,000 square feet of original content designed to engage and stimulate young minds.
It features seven dynamic zones with more than 75 exhibits that present little learners with iconic experiences, exciting discoveries and untold opportunities for creativity, collaboration and problem solving. These seven areas will also introduce science concepts through whole-body experiences, hands-on interactives and opportunities for imaginative role-playing.
The Orlando Science Center is moving forward with plans for a $30 million renovation project with recent donation pledges.
Phase one of the project includes moving KidsTown, an area for children 7 and under, to the second floor and expanding it. When finished, KidsTown will be three times the size at 11,000-sq-ft. Construction is expected to start next spring, and be completed by the end of 2016.
