Out and About: ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at Dr. Phillips Center .. #JCSTheMusical #DrPhillipsCenter #OrlandoArts #OrlandoBroadwaySeries

I’ve been a fan of “Jesus Christ Superstar” since I was a child when my mom took me to see first the movie, then the actual theater production, in the 70s.
I then had a chance to see the 1992 touring production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” with the movie’s stars Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson.
So I super excited to see the current touring production of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” celebrating 50 years of the show, which is at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando this week.
This production is different from what I’ve experienced before, but it was still very thrilling to watch.

The official press release from the company states:
“Options Clause Entertainment LLC, an affiliate of S2BN Entertainment, announced today the cancellation of the Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Spectacular Tour. The tour was scheduled to kick off in New Orleans on June 9. All purchased tickets will be refunded. Tickets purchased online and via telephone will be automatically refunded. Tickets purchased from outlets/venue box office must be returned to that location for refund.”
No reason has been given for the cancellation of the tour, which was to start in less than two weeks, but judging by the reactions from several cast members, there was no warning this was going to happen.
