Last week, I took in this month’s edition of Velvet Sessions at the Hard Rock Hotel Orlando to see one of my favorite musicians of all time: Howard Jones.
The Velvet Sessions take place the last Thursday of the month (most months) in the intimate setting of the hotel’s lobby area. The seating is removed, bars are set up around the side and back from the stage, which occupies one wall.
Every month, except November and December, the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando hosts a live concert called Velvet Sessions. It’s a 21 and over event that features classic rock and pop artists performing in an intimate club-like atmosphere.
This month, 80s hitmaker Howard Jones will be performing on Thursday, March 26. His hits include “What is Love,” “Life in One Day,” “Things Can Only Get Better,” and “No One is To Blame.”
Do you love hit songs from the 80s like “Hold Me Now,” “Things Can Only Get Better,” and “Walking on Sunshine”? If so then, like me, you’ll want to check out the Retro Futura Tour that will be hitting the Hard Rock Live Orlando on September 10.
The tour features Tom Bailey of Thompson Twins, Howard Jones, China Crisis, Ultravox’s Midgeure, and Katrina of Katrina and the Waves joining together to perform their greatest hits. The Orlando show seems to be the last on this leg, so they should be in fine form.
