The annual Winter Wonderland event returns to Wekiva Island in Longwood from December 1 to January 1, 2021, and it has been updated for the safety of its guests.
This year’s Winter Wonderland will feature a Christmas tree forest full of decorated trees that will serve as the perfect backdrop to the festivities. The schoolhouse will be made up to look like a giant gingerbread house, and “snow” flurries will fall nightly from 6 to 9pm weekdays, and 12 to 9pm on weekends.

In addition to the fan favorite Ice Rink Pavilion, the CFE Federal Credit Union Ferris Wheel, Blizzard ride, the Arctic Glide Ice Slide presented by Race Trac and Santa’s Workshop presented by Coca-Cola, there are several free opportunities for all to enjoy, including the Holiday Light Show presented by Orlando Sanford International Airport with thousands of lights choreographed to seasonal musical selections and snow, spun by a live DJ.
As we wrote previously, the hugely popular American Girl store is opening an outpost in Orlando at the Florida Mall the weekend of November 15 and 16. To make the celebrations even bigger, the mall itself will be holding an array of activities during the opening.
Beginning at 9am, kids can enjoy an array of activities near the American Girl store, which will include live performances, arts and craft stations, a social media zone, food trucks and so much more. In addition, families will be entertained by elements like stilt walkers and balloon artists before entering the store.
The Florida Mall will also be hosting activity stations inside the mall from 11am-6pm on Saturday and 12pm-5pm on Sunday. This will include carnival row with carnival games and more near Buca di Beppo, Mad Science activity stations near Dillards, live DJ’s playing the kids favorite tunes near Old Navy and Center Court, arts and crafts near Center Court and more.

Several times throughout the event, they will be showing free movies outdoors on a two-story screen. Start times are at 7pm, with a repeat at 9:30pm, and the movie listing can be found online.
Santa will also be making appearances for photo ops. Price for the photo is $12.50.
It’s free to wander around, and check out the Holiday lights, but there is a charge for the rides ($4.25-$6.50), which include an Ice Slide and a Ferris Wheel. There is also a charge for using the outdoor tented ice skating rink ($12 nightly skating/$19.75 nightly unlimited skate and rides pass).

Escape to the land of Far, Far Away, because Shrek is the movie that will be playing at this month’s Popcorn Flicks in the Park in Winter Park, on August 8.

On select Wednesday nights, the Enzian in Maitland shows a free outdoor movie on the lawn. During the night there is also Jell-o shot movie trivia and a happy hour from 7pm to 11pm at the Eden Bar at the Enzian.

Tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster. Light up UCF has several group packages, including discounts on skating for groups of 10 or more.
Hours are Monday through Thursday 5pm to 10pm, Fridays 5pm to midnight , Saturday 11am to midnight, and Sundays 11am to 10pm.
