One of the most fun Disney holiday traditions is the annual gingerbread house in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian resort at Walt Disney World.
This isn’t a tiny house either. This gingerbread house is 16 feet high by 17 feet wide and features a classic Austrian gingerbread recipe that calls for 700 lbs of chocolate, over 1000 lbs of honey, 800 lbs of flower, and 600 lbs of powdered sugar, among other edible items.
The house is big enough to offer 80 square feet of retail inside. This bake shop offers freshly baked items such as cookies, shingles and gingerbread ornaments. Other homemade items for sale include Stollen Bread, chocolate peppermint bark, truffles and miniature gingerbread houses.
