This weekend I attended one of the first shows of Disney’s “Frozen” at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando as part of the FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando 21/22 season, and I found it to be an energetic, fun, and hilarious telling of the story.

The Dr. Phillip Center for the Performing Arts and FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando are bringing “Disney’s Frozen” to Orlando February 24 to March 6, 2022.
This is the perfect family theater outing as the musical is based on the 2013 hit film of the same name.

Disney’s Frozen is the biggest animated film of all time, and this fall, Disney On Ice will bring the story to life on skates at the Amway Center in Orlando for seven shows September 5-7.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet (what???), Disney’s Frozen tells the tale of two royal-born sisters, Anna and Elsa. Elsa has magical wintery powers and runs away in fear of hurting anyone. Elsa embarks on a journey to find her, with the help of new friends Kristoff the mountain man, Sven his trusty reindeer, and Olaf the snowman.
On Tuesday, March 18, Downtown Disney hosted a party to celebrate the release of Disney’s hit movie Frozen on Blu-ray and DVD.
This free event at Once Upon a Toy at the Marketplace featured an outside DJ dance party and an inside Frozen backdrop for people to take photos with.
We got there around 2pm, and headed inside to see the photo area. It was actually pretty cool, with faux snow-covered mountains and Olaf in one corner. The line was never longer than a few minutes, so pretty soon adults were getting in on the action.
Just outside, in the area where the water fountain normally is, a DJ spun songs to dance to. There were also hula hoops for kids to play with. Every 30 minutes or so, one of the DJ’s would lead a sing-a-long to “Let It Go” from the Frozen soundtrack, and encourage all the kids to sing into a microphone he had. It was really cute. Around 4pm, the DJs led the crowd in a spirited version of “Simon Says.”
The movie Frozen was one of Disney’s biggest animated movies in years, so it’s only natural that they would fete the release of the DVD/Blu-ray on March 18 with a launch party at Walt Disney World.
The event will take place at Once Upon a Toy, in the Downtown Disney Marketplace.
Plans include a Frozen-inspired DJ Dance Party* and Sing-A-Long, as well as an opportunity to have your family’s photo taken with a special Frozen photo backdrop.
This event is free to attend.
