In an unexpected press release today, it was announced that the Arabian Nights dinner show in Kissimmee will close its doors as of January 1, 2014.
Since it opened in 1988, Arabian Nights has presented more than 10,000 performances for more than 10 million guests.
This summer, they won the 2013 Orlando Sentinel Award as Best Dinner Show. The venue also recently updated its show and menu, but it seems as though it was not enough to keep the show going.
Owner Mark Miller states: “It has been an honor sharing my passion for the beauty and magic of horses with people from all walks of life over the last 25 years. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where the marketplace demands a cheaper product than we can provide.”
“Arabian Nights, which is the most honored dinner show of all time, was built for the highest excellence, not the lowest price,” Miller explains.
Before it closes, Arabian Nights will offer its annual Christmas show from December 1-31. To give Central Florida residents a chance to see the show one more time, they are offering 50% off admission with valid Florida ID. To get the discount, purchase tickets via phone at 407-239-9223, ext. 200, or in person at the box office.
This is so sad to write about! Not only is the Orlando area losing a quality attraction, but so many people are going to need jobs right after the holidays. If your attraction is looking for skilled employees, contact the Arabian Nights HR department.
Arabian Nights is located at 3081 Arabian Nights Blvd. in Kissimmee.
