Cartoon Network to Bring Move It Movement to LEGOLAND Florida on August 14, 2013

One of the biggest health movements in America is getting kids active, and the Cartoon Network is doing just that with its Move It Movement tour.

The event will take place at LEGOLAND Florida on August 14 from 11am-7pm, with the opening ceremony near the Boating School in the LEGO City area of the park.

Cartoon Network, Move It Movement, LEGOLAND FloridaFamilies attending can enjoy a wide range of activities, including:

  • NBA/WNBA FIT & NBA Hoop Troop – kids can demonstrate their fitness level by testing their basketball skills and shoot against the clock for prizes.
  • The PGA of America Driving Range – updated to reflect the new PGA Sports Academy and its goal of developing young social and competitive golfers, kids are invited to drive the ball for accuracy and distance with The PGA driving range. Top scores are posted on the PGA Sports Academy leaderboard.
  • NFL PLAY 60 – kids can practice a variety of football-themed activities, including running patterns and passing skills.
  • Subway® Fresh Fit for Kids™ Soccer Shootout Challenge and Skate Park/BMX Experience – At the challenge, kids can show off their footwork and take aim at a custom soccer goal; while over at the park, BMX and skateboard experts perform high-flying demonstrations followed by personal interactive safety and riding tips sessions for kids;
  • Let’s Move!/PALA+ booth – a station set aside specifically for registration materials, nutrition tips and further information promoting participation with Let’s Move! and the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award.
  • Cartoon Network Chill Zone – a themed area to refuel (water) and recharge while sampling some of the best new programming, online activities and premium items from Cartoon Network.
  • Cartoon Network Green Screen – a free photo activity positioned near the brand new “LEGO® World of Chima presented by Cartoon Network” area—which opened on July 3—where kids can be captured “within” the worlds of their favorite cartoons, such as Adventure Time, Regular Show, Teen Titans GO!, The Amazing World of Gumball, Ben 10 Omniverse and Legends of Chima. Costume characters from Legends of Chima, Lava and Cragger, will also be available on-site to join kids for their themed photos.

Move It Movement activities are included with normal park admission, but for this day only, guests can purchase a special one day ticket for only $45 online at Legoland.com.

On July 3, LEGOLAND Florida opened up its newest area of the park: The World of Chima presented by Cartoon Network.

Built using 2 million LEGO bricks, it features The Quest for CHI (an interactive water ride), Cragger’s Swamp play area, Speedorz Areana (players battle with rip cord-powered LEGO vehicles), and a character meet-and-greet area.

Guests can get into the attraction at home, when “LEGO Legends of Chima” debuts on the Cartoon Network on July 10 at 8pm.

World of Chima is included in regular park admission.
