Adapting their classical instruments to a modern repertoire, 2CELLOS have crafted a unique sound that they will bring to Plaza Live in Orlando on Saturday, October 26.
This innovative Croatian duo, comprised of Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, are classically trained, however their set lists are anything but. You’re more likely to find renditions of everything from Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” and Sting’s “Fields of Gold,” to AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.” Set lists have also had unique covers of songs from Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, and Guns’n’Roses, though they do throw in the occasional classical piece.
They’ve released two albums, including the most recent, In2ition, in January 2013. They’ve also toured with Elton John, and performed on an episode of Glee. These guys are just phenomenal musicians.
Opening will be A Great Big World, another duo whose songs have been heard quite often on TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, and Glee. Their music is also being used in the original live-action drama, Contest, airing on the Cartoon Network. Their newest single is “Say Something.”
Tickets for the show are $30-$45, and can be purchased online or at the Plaza Live box office.
