Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Month presented by American Express is kicking off the celebration with a preview week beginning August 24th and continuing through September 30th.
Now in it’s 13th year, Magical Dining shows off the city’s amazing culinary scene with over 100 restaurants participating with special three-course menus, all for the fixed price of $35. There are dishes to please every palate and every diet including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan.
I had an opportunity to preview the menu from Bulla Gastrobar in Winter Park. Bulla features Spanish and Portuguese cuisine, and the Magical Dining menu did not disappoint.
From March 13 thru March 31, both members and non-members were invited to use the cardio equipment at the Downtown Orlando Central Florida YMCA for free, in order to help with the fitness challenge “Let’s Move for a Better World.”
This worldwide challenge included almost 800 fitness facilities across the globe, with over 140,000 people donating their moves to a great cause. The top facility in each country with the most donated moves, will win the opportunity to donate new state-of-the-art equipment from Technogym to a local school or health facility.
It is just human nature that we are a nostalgic group of beings, it is easy for us to be carried back to memories of our childhood through TV shows, books and music.
We can sit on the couch for hours mesmerized by a “M*A*S*H” marathon on television, and how many of us get sucked in when The Godfather is on? I, for one, could listen to music from the 70’s and 80’s on an endless loop, never again tuning into hip hop or whatever they call music nowadays.
This last week Celebration, Florida was known as the culinary capital of the world as the World Food Championships rolled into town.
Market Street was transformed into the Kenmore Kitchen Arena as over 1100 professional and home Chefs competed in 9 culinary categories for their share of the $350,000 in prize money.
