It’s been a busy day for Walt Disney World news, with the opening date announcement for “TRON Lightcycle / Run,” news of the return of two nighttime shows to the parks, and a bunch of updates that will make Guests and Passholders very happy.
It has been an intense couple of days here in Orlando with Hurricane Ian, but after surveying the property, Walt Disney World has decided to reopen its parks, Disney Springs, and more starting tomorrow, September 30, 2022.
Disney has finally released a launch date for the MagicBand+, and it will debut at Walt Disney World on Wednesday, July 27.
It appears that New York-based hotel firm Nobu Hospitality has plans to build a Nobu Hotel Orlando near Walt Disney World. The firm, co-founded by actor Robert De Niro, Meir Teper, and Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, will be collaborating with Mexico-based RCD Hotels on the development.

Yesterday I attended the opening dedication ceremony at Walt Disney World for the new Space 220 restaurant at EPCOT, then had a chance to sample the lunch menu. The ceremony featured executives from Patina Restaurant Group, Delaware North (Patina Restaurant Group’s parent company), Disney, and very special guests Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse (as seen above).
