SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is making a splash this spring with the return of its popular “Meet a Mermaid” experience, bringing live dive shows, interactive meet-and-greets, and hands-on learning to families looking for things to do in Orlando with kids this May.
From May 9 through May 25, guests can catch “real-life” mermaids diving in the ocean habitat surrounding the aquarium’s 360-degree ocean tunnel every Saturday and Sunday, plus Memorial Day.
The experience features mermaids swimming alongside sharks, stingrays, sea turtles, and other extraordinary sea creatures in captivating underwater performances. Guests can also meet a mermaid up close through interactive meet-and-greet experiences offered throughout the day.

Mermaid dive shows will take place from 11:30am to 1pm, 2 to 4pm, and 5 to 6:30pm, inside the Atlantic Ocean habitat. Guests can also enjoy meet-and-greets throughout the day from 11:30am to 6:30pm, including photo opportunities in the Mermaid’s Grotto.
Throughout the month, SEA LIFE Orlando is diving even deeper with “Tails of the Ocean,” a series of interactive education stations where families can learn about marine animals and discover how some, like manatees, have inspired mermaid legends. Designed to spark curiosity and connection, these experiences blend storytelling with science to create a fun and meaningful day for guests all ages.

“Our mermaid experiences are always a guest favorite, and this year we’re excited to bring even more opportunities for families to connect with the ocean in a fun and engaging way,” said General Manager of SEA LIFE Orlando, Paul Gould. “From live dive shows to hands-on learning, it’s all about creating memorable moments while inspiring curiosity about marine life during this limited-time spring event.”
Tickets start at $35 on event dates. Guests looking to make the most of their visit can also take advantage of SEA LIFE Orlando’s Gold Annual Pass, which offers year-round access to multiple Merlin Entertainments attractions across Central Florida – including LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, PEPPA PIG Theme Park Florida, Madame Tussauds Orlando, and The Orlando Eye.
