Timucua Arts Foundation Presents Month of Jazz in April 2024

In conjunction with the National Museum of Natural History’s Jazz Appreciation Month, Orlando’s Timucua Arts Foundation presents its fifth annual Month of Jazz in April 2024.

Timucua’s Month of Jazz is sponsored by WUCF TV and 89.9 FM and Revive Skin Care Clinic, and includes the following events:

  • Philippe Lemm Trio on April 6th: Experience one of the most exciting and dynamic jazz groups of the last decade supporting their latest release “First Steps.”
  • Rejuvenation Orchestra – Sam Rivers Legacy on April 7th: An electrifying jazz concert celebrating Sam Rivers’ legacy and his 100th birthday from a dynamic ensemble of original members and eager young talents.
  • 904 Jazz Organ Trio: Ulysses Owens Jr., Scott Giddens and Barry Greene on April 12th: Grammy winning drummer Ulysses Owens teams up with B3 organist Scott Giddens and Jacksonville jazz guitarist Barry Greene to deliver fluid yet authoritative music that soothes the soul.
  • Abstract Citizen on April 13th: Abstract Citizen showcases the greatest qualities that South Florida has to offer, channeling Miami’s multicultural influence into their original compositions and performing “modern jazz” at the highest caliber.
  • Totem Cave on April 19th: World jazz and improvised chaos from a great sextet whose musical fabric weaves rhythms with elements of Jazz, Fusion and Funk.
  • Orian Rose Quintet on April 20th: Orian Rose is a drummer and composer based in New York City who draws upon his diverse background, of Israeli-Dutch heritage and upbringing in India, to infuse his compositions and playing with unique multicultural influences incorporating Middle Eastern flavors. Orian creates a distinct sound for his quintet, promising audiences a dynamic, vivid, and exhilarating evening filled with musicians from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for playing together.
  • Jeff Rupert Quartet with Jason Marsalis on April 26th: An evening of jazz by world-renowned UCF music faculty members. This is Jason Marsalis’ last concert before he goes back to New Orleans!
  • Wayne Escoffery & Tal Cohen on April 27th: Grammy winner Wayne Escoffery, known for his mastery of the saxophone and his ability to infuse modern jazz with depth and emotion, joins forces with Tal Cohen, a pianist whose diverse background adds unique flavors to their collaborative performances.
