Today is the annual celebration of Earth Day, and several Orlando-area restaurants are offering Wildflower seeds to guests to plant at home.
Delaware North is offering guests a special plantable drink coaster which will be available at several of its Patina Restaurant Group restaurants at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World.
The campaign, part of Delaware North’s award-winning GreenPath® program, replaces traditional cardboard drink coasters and beverage napkins with eco-friendly, plantable seed coasters for guests to take home, plant and enjoy throughout the remainder of April, to also support National Park Week, April 16-24, as well as Arbor Day on April 29.
The pollinator wildflowers are embedded in the coasters, are native to North America, and include Black-Eyed Susan, Corn Poppy, Spurred Snapdragon, Sweet Alyssum, English Daisy and Catchfly seeds.
So if you get one, don’t throw the coaster away. Take it home and plant it for the flowers to bloom.
The participating restaurants are Morimoto Asia, The Edison, Maria and Enzo’s, Enzo’s Hideaway, and Pizza Pointe.
Also giving out wildflowers to its customers today, 4 Rivers Smokehouses, on partnership with 4Roots Farm Campus, will be distributing Pollinator – Friendly Wildflower Seeds to dine-in guests for Earth Day. Supplies are limited.
Let me know if you manage to get some wildflowers to plant today!
