If you’re looking for a great upcoming local music festival to enjoy, then you’ll want to put the Swamp Sistas Cosmic Conjunction FunKtion on March 13 in your calendar.
The event will feature local musical performances of various genres, open jam sessions, and comedy on three separate stages from 4–9pm at Will’s Pub in the Mills 50 District.
The stage inside Will’s Pub will host sets from Beth McKee & Her Funky Time Band, neo-soul and jazz artist Kristen Warren with Creek, Kaleigh Baker & Taylor Galbraith as “Cockatwo Freakout,” singer/guitarist Shine, and a special appearance by the Swamp Roots Troop, led by McKee with Amy Robbins, Ka Malinalli, Renee Arozqueta, Bunky Garrabrant and Arielle D’Ornellas.
Lil’ Indies will feature songwriters in an intimate setting with Terri Binion, Hannah Harber, Amy Robbins, Renee Arozqueta, Ka Malinalli, Kayonne Riley, Liz Nash, and Arielle D’Ornellas (Sweet as Folk)
Dirty Laundry Patio will feature music from Mad Transit, Rachel Decker & George Dimitrov (Oak Hill Drifters) and Jeannine Gage with David Armstrong. Improv group Subject to Change will deliver comedy and guests are invited to participate in an open acoustic jam session hosted by the Ukulaliens and an interactive art experience by artist Mila Belle.
But that’s not all.
Artists and vendors will be set up offering their wares in a market setting, and local community organizations will be on hand to highlight the services they provide to our residents. Local chefs will also offer diverse and unique food for sale.
Swamp Sistas Cosmic Conjunction Function will also mark the release and premiere of Beth McKee’s new Swamp Sistas single and video, “Cosmic Drifter” featuring members of the collective and co-written and co-performed with Orlando Hip Hop artist E Turn.
