Universal Orlando confirmed that it is closing the Shrek 4-D attraction inside the Universal Studios Florida park in 2022.
The last day of operation will be January 10, 2022, for the attraction that opened at the park in June 2003, replacing Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies.
Based on the popular movie franchise, Shrek 4-D utilizes “OgreVision” glasses to experience the visual effects, which help tell the story along with motion-based effects in the seats.
The Shrek gift shop will close as well, but the nearby Meet Shrek and Donkey experience will continue to operate, Universal says.
No word on what Universal Orlando plans to replace the Shrek 4-D attraction and gift shop area with.
