The winter holiday season in Orlando is usually full of festivals and events celebrating Christmas and other holidays, but with the pandemic, the 2020 holiday season looks very different.
But there are still plenty of events to enjoy, and I’ve picked out the best ones (and the ones adhering to safety guidelines of masks and social distancing).
From ongoing events to limited time events, here are my picks for holiday events to enjoy this season:
ONGOING HOLIDAY EVENTS
BOGGY CREEK AIRBOAT ADVENTURES, KISSIMMEE – THE JOLLY CREEK HOLIDAY MUSIC FESTIVAL
Through December 13.
Each Friday through Sunday, enjoy Christmas concerts, holiday photo ops including Santa, food, and family fun. Tickets are $15 adults/$10 kids under 13. Airboat rides available for extra fee.
BOK TOWER GARDENS, LAKE WALES – HOLIDAYS AT BOK TOWER GARDENS

Enjoy holiday decorations and Carillon concerts on select dates. Most concerts included with admission.
CRANES ROOST PARK, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS – LIGHT UP THE HOLIDAYS

Enjoy over 200,000 lights on more than 100 holiday displays powered by Duke Energy. The highlight in the park is the 60-foot tall Christmas tree with more than 8,000 energy-efficient LED lights, 2,600 ornaments and over one mile of garland. Plus Santa Tuesdays, and holiday characters and music on select dates. Free admission and free movies Dec 10 and 17.
CRAYOLA EXPERIENCE, ORLANDO – COLORFUL CHRISTMAS

Enjoy life-sized holiday animatronic characters, a musical light show, and create unique Crayola gifts. Included with admission.
DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, DAYTONA BEACH – MAGIC LIGHTS OF DAYTONA

The speedway is decorated with holiday lights and guests can enjoy it from their vehicle. On Wednesdays (except Dec 23) guests can drive through twice on one ticket. Tickets start at $17.
DISNEY SPRINGS, WALT DISNEY WORLD – CHRISTMAS TREE STROLL
Through December 30.
Enjoy a collection of elaborately decorated Disney Christmas trees spread throughout the neighborhoods of Disney Springs. There are also special treats for purchase in many of the food venues. Free admission and parking.
GATORLAND, KISSIMMEE – HOLIDAY HO HO HO-DOWN

The Gatorland Holiday Experience, included in the regular price of admission, features holiday displays, interactive characters, and holiday singers throughout the park, as well as a Very Merry Train ride. Specialty festive food items will also be available for purchase. Included with admission.
GAYLORD PALMS, KISSIMMEE – CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS
Through January 3, 2021.
New to this year’s event is I Love Christmas Movies, an immersive, walk-through experience featuring scenes from five beloved Christmas films, and Snow Factory, a snowy play space with ice tubing and an interactive snowball area, plus enjoy dazzling live performances, a festive breakfast with the Grinch, gingerbread decorating and more. GIVE KIDS THE WORLD, KISSIMMEE – NIGHT OF A MILLION LIGHTS

Leu Gardens is transformed into a holiday outdoor three-quarter mile interactive experience suitable for all ages, including a 30? tall Christmas tree, a 65? long tunnel of light, interactive ground lights that ring like holiday bells when stepped on, a “forest” of fog and light, and even snow and holiday music. THE MALL AT MILLENIA, ORLANDO – HOLIDAY WANDER
Through December 24.
Experience a magical world of candy cane swirls and snowflake blizzards. Picture yourself inside a giant snow globe or with Santa’s rooftop view. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $10 donation per 2 or $20 per family. Donations benefit Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.
PLANT CITY – THE CHRISTMAS TRAIL
Through December 23.
Enjoy an outdoor walking trail filled with several different Christmas attractions, photo ops, a 25ft tall Christmas tree lights show, a Jack Frost Ice Show, and more. Tickets are $15 per vehicle (1-8 people); $25 passenger van (9-15 people); $50 bus (16+ people).

On designated Santa days, you’ll enjoy a one-hour semi-private experience with Santa -including stories, songs and of course – photos. During the hour, you can take as many photos with your own cameras and phones as you would like. The venue’s pro photographers are an optional upgrade. There are also ten new holiday walls this year. WEKIVA ISLAND, LONGWOOD – WINTER WONDERLAND

Wekiva Island will be transformed into a winter wonderland with daily snow flurries, visits from Santa & Mrs. Claus, holiday movies on the lawn, a Christmas Tree Forest and so much more. The event will feature a stroll through the snow along with other holiday delights in the area of the amphitheater on the east side of Lake Mirror. Along with the snow, there will be arts & craft vendors, a beautiful 30-foot-tall Christmas Tree, Santa and Mrs. Clause in a snow globe, Santa’s workshop with fun treats, a book giveaway sponsored by the Junior League of Greater Lakeland, entertainment, and tasty food trucks along with a number of vehicles on display from the presenting sponsor, Audi. Free and open to the public, the 90-minute live concert, presented by the City of Orlando Department of Families, Parks and Recreation, will feature traditional holiday songs like, “O Christmas Tree,” “The First Noel” and “Hanukkah, O Hanukkah” mashed up with classic rock tunes and modern hits like “Born to Run,” “Heroes” and “Sweet Dreams,” delivering a fun-filled, energetic and highly-unique holiday show unlike anything seen and heard before. Guests can choose to stay and play all day with the purchase of an All-Day Play Pass for only $24.99. From 1 PM to 4 PM each afternoon, enjoy snowfall and a DJ dance party in NASA Central. Throughout the park, see festive decorations, trivia and holiday videos. Don’t forget to take a holiday selfie with the giant NASA logo ornament at the entrance to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Closed Dec 24-25. Included with admission.

Celebrate the grandeur of the Holiday Season with The Christmas Tenors as they unite their vocal majesty and usher in an unforgettable musical experience in collaboration with The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra under the guidance of Maestro Pasquale Valerio. Seating is outdoors in boxes. Tickets are priced per minimum seating in the box.
