Here is the latest Central Florida foodie and dining news to report on, including restaurant openings and closings, special dinners and food events, dining discounts, and so much more.

First off, a quick reminder of the foodie events currently happening:

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining has been extended to October 31, 2020, so you have three extra weeks to enjoy those $35 prix fixe menus.

Teak Neighborhood Grill is hosting its 2nd annual Burger World Tour through October 5 with a different $5 burger each day at both of its locations.

Orlando Weekly’s Taco Week runs through October 7 with participating restaurants offering a $5 taco special.

Pie-Fection will be serving up its Brazilian pizza from a new second location in Kissimmee starting today at 5pm, with Free Pizza for the first 200 guests. Find them at 720 Centerview Blvd in The Crosslands Shopping Center in what looks to be the former Midici location.

Sunset Walk at Margaritaville Resort Orlando is hosting a “Best of” Challenge: Burger Edition on October 3. Restaurants from Margaritaville Resort Orlando, Island H2O Live! Water Park, and the Promenade at Sunset Walk will be participating. It’s free to attend, or for $15 you get VIP Tasting with samples of all the burgers and a chance to vote.

Terralina Crafted Italian at Disney Springs is hosting several notable specials during October 2020:

  • Florida Resident Discount of 20% off the total bill (excluding alcohol, not to be combined with any other offer) from Monday through Friday.
  • First responders will receive 35% off their total check for the month (not to be combined with any other offer).
  • Visit Orlando Magical Dining menu.
  • Get 50% off the Rigatoni Calabrese or Sausage Pizza items on National Sausage Day (Oct. 11).
  • Get BOGO 50% Off all items from the Pasta section of the menu on National Pasta Day (Oct. 17).
  • Plus for the month of October, the restaurant will be offering their Happy Hour $15 Charcuterie board (pictured below) inside the restaurant instead of just the patio.
  • And the bar will offer their Black Widow Cocktail ($13) combining muddled blackberries, simple syrup and vodka for a festive Halloween-worthy drink.

Paddlefish at Disney Springs is also hosting several notable specials during October 2020:

  • Florida Resident Discount of 20% off the total bill (excluding alcohol, not to be combined with any other offer) from Monday through Friday.
  • First responders will receive 35% off their total check for the month (not to be combined with any other offer).
  • Visit Orlando Magical Dining menu.
  • On National Take-Your-Parents-To-Lunch Day (Oct. 14), guests who bring their parent(s) to lunch at Paddlefish will be treated to 35% off the entire check when they say the secret code: “I LOVE MY FAMILY.”
  • On National Pasta Day (Oct. 17), the restaurant will offer 50% off all pasta dishes for lunch only.

During October, Git-N-Messy BBQ will be parked at The Orlando Forum on I-Drive for The Tunnel of the Damned Haunted Maze (designed and executed by creative horror masterminds Patrick Braillard and Kim Gromoll, both formerly behind many of the most infamous mazes at Halloween Horror Nights).

Have you been missing Chicken Fire? They’re currently setting up shop at Barley and Vine Biergarten in the Milk District (2406 E. Washington St) Thursday-Sunday from 12p-3p & 5p-8p.

Tin & Taco‘s owners are launching a new eatery concept called Neon Beach, which will offer a “very unique Bbq style menu” accompanied by “crafty beach libations.” It will also offer live music/Dj’s on select days and nights. No word on an opening date but they’re currently hiring.

Kevin and Maria Ruiz of Papa Llama are currently in the soft opening phase of their first restaurant at 2840 Curry Ford Road in Orlando. They’re still serving up delicious Peruvian food, as they did in their many pop-ups in past years. Currently their menu is carry-out only.

Blake Shelton’s new Ole Red restaurant at ICON Park on I-Drive is hosting a “Beer ‘Round Here” Dinner on October 27 featuring five courses of Southern-inspired Floridian cuisine by Executive Chef Mark Boor, expertly paired with a craft beer selection from Crooked Can Brewing Company. Cost is $60 per person and you can find the menu at the link above.

Hamburger Mary’s in downtown Orlando announced this week it has taken over the ownership & operations of its neighbor, Pepe’s Cantina Church Street. No word on any changes that might be coming.

Bradenton’s Motorworks Brewing has opened its new location in downtown Orlando, and it will be serving up 24 beers on draft, 40+ limited release bottles (available for on-site consumption), a full liquor & wine bar, and a food menu. It’s located at 131 N Orange Ave.

Kim Wu on S. Kirkman in Orlando has announced on their Facebook page they will be closing for good after 38 years of serving up Cantonese-style Chinese food. October 29 is the final day.

SeaWorld Orlando has extended its Craft Beer Festival until Nov 1. The fest runs Fri-Sun and includes over 100 craft beers, and over 20 food items for purchase. Admission to the park is required.
