Walt Disney World Replaces Beauty and the Beast Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios .. #WaltDisneyWorld #BeautyandtheBeast

The Disney Society Orchestra and Friends is a 20-minute instrumental concert with a closing appearance by Beauty and the Beast characters

A new show opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios yesterday, and it’s a non-actor replacement for the long-running “Beauty and the Beast β€” Live on Stage” show.

The new show, called “The Disney Society Orchestra and Friends,” is a 20-minute instrumental concert with a closing appearance by “Beauty and the Beast” characters Belle, the Beast, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Cogsworth and Chip waving to the guests in the audience.

The silent character castmembers are non-Equity, so they don’t violate the terms of the union’s ongoing contract dispute with the amusement park over COVID-19 testing and mask-wearing for actors.

I haven’t seen much online response to the new show, but someone did video one of the performances:

No word on how long “The Disney Society Orchestra and Friends” will place of “Beauty and the Beast β€” Live on Stage,” but I have a feeling it’ll be a long while.
