ThinkGeek to Close Florida Mall Store in Orlando .. #ThinkGeek #OrlandoShopping

ThinkGeek at Florida Mall

Five years ago, online retailer ThinkGeek opened its first offline retail outlet at the Florida Mall in Orlando. Today, the store announced it was closing.

In a Facebook post today, the ThinkGeek store at the Florida Mall announced it was shutting its doors, and starting tomorrow (August 14), everything in the store is 20%-30% off.

ThinkGeek, which is owned by GameStop, had its site shuttered in 2019, and became a “curated section” of GameStop’s website.

Due to poor holiday sales last year, GameStop made the decision to start shuttering ThinkGeek’s physical store locations. Since the Florida Mall already has a GameStop store, it just became a matter of time until the company made the decision to close the ThinkGeek store.

ThinkGeek specializes in collectibles and geek-themed merchandise. It’s located in the Plaza wing, next to JCPenney.
