Universal Orlando Announces Cancellation of Halloween Horror Nights for 2020 .. #UniversalOrlando #HalloweenHorrorNights #HHN2020

Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights

The big question that has been looming since Universal Orlando re-opened to the public last month has finally been answered: there will be no Halloween Horror Nights for 2020.

Universal Orlando made the announcement this morning via posts on its Facebook and Twitter accounts:

Certainly current safety protocols, including the need for face coverings and limiting attendance, played a big part in the decision.

Not only would it be hard to social distance in the horror houses/mazes, but this is an expensive event to produce, and reduced attendance means less revenue to pay for the event and its performers.

I know it’s disappointing…I definitely feel you there…but this gives Universal over a year to plan for the 2021 event, and I’m sure it will make next year’s event worth the wait.

2020 would have marked the 30th year for the popular Halloween event.
