Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

This week, Walt Disney World announced via the Disney Parks Blog that it has decided to cancel Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for 2020.

The annual event is a separately ticketed special event taking place after dark on select nights prior to Halloween at Magic Kingdom.

It features special appearances by characters, the “Boo to You” parade, a Hocus Pocus-themed stage show, and trick-or-treating around the park for candy.

In the blog post, Disney stated the they “determined that many of its hallmarks – stage shows, parades and fireworks – are unable to take place in this new, unprecedented environment. With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.”

Guests who have already bought tickets will be assisted with refunds over the coming weeks, according to the post.

It’s disappointing to Disney Halloween fans, like myself, but I appreciate they’re putting safety first. I also look forward to an amazing Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2021, since they’ll have more than a year to prepare.
