UCF Celebrates The Arts Returns To Dr. Phillips Center

The University of Central Florida returns to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts with it’s UCF Celebrates the Arts event April 7-19, 2020.

UCF Celebrates the Arts encompasses theater, music, art, and more, with several different productions each day, as well as exhibitions in the Dr. Phillips Center lobby.

The festival will open with concert featuring the UCF Percussion with Ivan Trevino. Closing day/night will feature two productions for families, and the National Young Composers Challenge Composium.

In between, highlights will include Henry V: Staged Reading by Orlando Shakes, an Improv night, a Women in Art panel discussion, UCF Opera: Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri, and so much more!

Throughout the festival, guests can explore ongoing exhibitions around the Della Phillips Grand Lobby including student sculptures influenced by Dorothy Gillespie’s work, artwork inspired by the NEA Big Read novel The Things They Carried, banners about the contributions of women at UCF, and much more!

Events span nearly two weeks and tickets are available for free or at a low price. Tickets to most events start at $5 or $10, and exhibitions are free.

All must be reserved in advance at arts.ucf.edu.

Tickets are available beginning today, March 2, 2020 at noon ET.

I’ve been to several shows over the years, and they were wonderful. This is a great way to see what the UCF Visual and Performing Arts department has to offer.
